I am so excited to be taking part in Books of My Heart's annual Read-Along! 

This year, the blog picked The Edge and Innkeeper Chronicles series by Ilona Andrews!

Sweep in Peace is the second book in the Innkeeper Chronicles series and is an exciting story full of action, adventure, subterfuge, and surprises!

About the Book

Dina DeMille doesn’t run your typical Bed and Breakfast. Her inn is a living entity that defies laws of physics, her fluffy dog is secretly a monster, and the only paying guest is a former Galactic tyrant with a price on her head.  But the inn needs guests to thrive, and guests have been scarce, so when an Arbitrator shows up at Dina’s door and asks her to host a peace summit between three warring species, she jumps on the chance.

Unfortunately, for Dina, keeping the peace  between Space Vampires, the Hope-Crushing Horde, and the devious Merchants of Baha-char is much easier said than done. On top of keeping her guests from murdering each other,  she must find a chef, remodel the inn… and risk everything, even her life, to save the man she might fall in love with. But then it’s all in the day’s work for an Innkeeper…

 

My Review

I am absolutely enamored with this series! I mean, to be a galactic innkeeper and host beings from all around the universe from different worlds, dimensions, and alternate realities? I am totally here for it! Anything is possible in the Innkeeper Chronicles series.

When we last left Dina in Clean Sweep (Book 1), the local werewolf Sean discovered he's from a now-destroyed planet of space werewolves he knew nothing about. Sean needed to leave town–and Dina–to learn more about his lineage and discover who he is really meant to be. Well, I mean Dina and Sean did just meet and although the chemistry between the two is pretty strong, it’s still new and Dina understands Sean needs this chance. Le sigh.

In Sweep in Peace, The Gertrude Hunt gets the chance of a lifetime to host a peace summit. The inn needs the magic all these guests will bring so Dina jumps at the chance despite all the red flags waving in her face. But Dina is up to the challenge. 

The peace talks get off to a bumpy start when the vampire delegation doesn’t follow the rules and their entrance draws unwanted human attention to the inn. Oy vey! Cue the hijinks and face palming! 

Oh my goodness this book is so good! It’s got everything you need: excitement, hilarity, mystery, espionage, subterfuge, and much more!

Sweep in Peace is so much fun! I highly recommend it and the entire Innkeeper Chronicles series!

About the Author
