Release Day Review: Archangel's Eternity by Nalini Singh

Elena and Raphael return for the hauntingly poignant conclusion to New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s genre-defining Guild Hunter series.

Oh my gosh I cannot believe this is the last book in the series!!!

I cried through the whole book and then I cried while writing the review.

I love this series SO much! It breaks my heart to watch it end.

But I am so happy the Guild Hunter universe will be immortalized forever in print, and in my heart.

About the Book

A thousand years.

It’s been a millennium since Elena’s fateful first meeting with Archangel Raphael. She has survived war and loss, experienced beauty and cruelty. But no matter what, she has always held on to her mortal heart, as she and Raphael have held on to each other. Passionate and vibrant, they’ve built a life that has stood the test of time, growing ever stronger with each turn of the sun.

But change is coming—of a magnitude they could have never imagined—and it will forever alter the trajectory of their existence.

Even as they grapple with the cataclysmic shift in their personal lives, the Cadre of Ten, which has maintained a hard-won peace for centuries, begins to simmer with dangerous fault lines. The specter of madness looms in one archangel, the promise of war burns between two others, and in darkness far from mortal and immortal eyes stirs an ancient, slumbering power.

Suddenly, the future is terrifyingly uncertain . . . at the very moment that Elena and her archangel need to protect a treasure infinitely more precious than eternity.

My Review

Infinite Stars!

Archangel’s Eternity is a story for the eons.

Nalini Singh fundamentally changes my perspective on life, love, loss, and all the blessings and trials that goes along with it as she pens the last book in her extraordinary Guild Hunter series.

Nalini Singh writes her mother fucking ass off in the last installment to the Guild Hunter series. I have never cried harder than I did while reading this book. I have never grieved over a book as much as I’ve done here and I have never loved characters as much as I’ve loved Raphael, Elena, and every single character, large or small, friend or foe, as I have in these books.

I am sitting here crying ugly tears as I gather my thoughts to put pen to paper on how to even form a coherent thought to write a review that’s not gibberish. How can I ever put into words how incredible this story is, especially as I read the last pages of the book while desperately willing it to never end?

I scribbled–sometimes incoherently–into a notebook as I read the book for the first time. So many of the outbursts I’ve included in here are from moments that really affected me. I decided to keep them in because I could write a million words and none of them would be good enough to describe how wonderful and heartbreaking this experience was and how incredible the story is. This is as close as I got.

Someone recommended me Angel’s Blood (Guild Hunter #1) many years ago and after reading it, I was hooked! I had to know more about this crazy world of angels, vampires, and guild hunters. It’s truly a delight every time a new Guild Hunter book is published and I devour them right away, and constantly revisit the series and all these amazing characters through my many rereads. This quickly became my favorite series.

While this is the end of an exceptional series, it is also a celebration of life, of accomplishment, of beauty, of completion, and of love.

The emotions this story invokes are as heartbreaking as they are endearing.

The amount of love poured into this story is remarkable.

Beautiful story full of love, light and so much happiness.

To see all of this end? To see this beautiful universe cease to exist? It is like I have lost my best friend. My grief is insurmountable and inconsolable.

Saying goodbye is something I never thought I’d have to do with these wonderful characters that are like family in this remarkable and unforgettable world of wings and fantasy.

Knowing this is the very last story in the Guild Hunter series just breaks my heart.

I thought the time jumps were bad in previous books. That pain and grief is compounded in Archangels Eternity.

So many battles of the heart, of self, of arrogance, and pride.

What a beautiful love letter to life, to the human experience, to cherishing memories.

Time is a priceless commodity. Once it’s gone, you can’t get it back, so cherish every moment you can.

At 90% into reading the book, I was so much in my feelings.

Everything is so raw and feels like salt poured into never-sealing wounds.

The pain as the series winds down is excruciating.

Having so much invested in these characters, it warms my heart to see all the surprises and the beauty and well deserved happiness or comeuppance they so rightfully deserve.

My heart shattered into a million pieces but made whole by the beauty, laughter, love, and memories these stories have given me over the years.

The writing skill it takes to create characters so real and life like is an exquisite talent, Nalini Singh is a master at her craft

Seeing/watching these characters grow, change, and develop into who they are truly meant to be is a privilege and an honor.

This story is so powerfully written I felt the visceral pain of loss and regret. I felt the joy and happiness of life anew. I felt the grief that overshadowed a story written throughout millennia.

And I wouldn't have wanted to miss a single minute of this reading experience.

Infinity stars for Archangel’s Eternity.

While I am completely devastated and my heart irrevocably broken, I can take joy in the knowledge that these beautifully and lovingly crafted characters will live on forever in this world and in the next and mostly in our hearts

No greater love story has ever been told with as much passion, love, care, respect, consideration, compassion, and beauty as is that of our Raphael and his Elena. A love so profound that it will outlive an eternity.

Thank you Nalini for pouring your heart and soul into this series and especially into Archangel’s Eternity.

However, I refuse to say goodbye to characters I’ve loved for close to 20 years. For now I’ll just say, see ya later.

Countdown Review: Archangel's Ascension by Nalini Singh

On May 5, 2026, the series will come to a close with ARCHANGEL’S ETERNITY.

I’m counting down the days until the final story is told by sharing my reviews for each book in the series.

ARCHANGEL'S ASCENSION is Book #17 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series.

The Guild Hunter series is set in a world where angels and vampires exist among mortals. Where supernatural beings are ruled by the Cadre of Ten.

Illium and Aodhan’s love story is one for the ages, beautifully fragile, unbending, and stronger than ever before.

ARCHANGEL'S ASCENSION is where our precious Bluebell is catapulted into his destiny. A destiny that he never wanted, but was his path all along.

About the Book

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh takes us back to her breathtakingly passionate Guild Hunter world, where an impending transformation will be both an ending and a beginning…

Aodhan and Illium. Adi and Blue. Sparkle and Bluebell. Friends become lovers, their future a wild unknown.

Finally reunited in New York, they must now learn to navigate the monumental shift in their relationship. But for these two members of Archangel Raphael’s legendary Seven, there is no time to rest. As they investigate a case for the Tower that echoes the darkness from Aodhan’s past, they will be forced to confront not only the scars that mark them both, but the promise of a vast power that flickers in Illium.

The threat of ascension has haunted and troubled Aodhan’s Blue for too long, the forces of change immutable and without mercy…and uncaring of Illium’s fierce wish to remain part of the Seven. Change is a constant in an immortal’s life, and this new horizon will bring with it both terrible heartbreak and a joy extraordinary enough to reverberate through time…

My Review

10 million stars!

Bittersweet kismet

Nalini Singh masterfully pens a beautiful love letter to her readers with ARCHANGEL'S ASCENSION.

When the Guild Hunter series began, Illium was in his early 500s. Still pretty young for an angel let alone old enough to become an archangel. As the series progresses, we see signs that Illium is becoming a Power.

When a catastrophic archangelic event hits the world, the powers that be try to ascend Illium into an archangel too soon and almost kills him. Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before Illium began his ultimate ascension.

Now, the youngest angel to ascend in the entire history of angels was Raphael. As the son of two archangels, he ascended at just over 1,000 years old, that’s almost unheard of. Since Illium has been in his fifth century throughout the series, a significant time jump has to happen for Illium to ascend. I know guys, I know. I’m still not ready!

The time jump is what’s most devastating to me about the story. We know that angels and vampires live centuries and millennia and mortals don’t. Their fire burns so bright, yet extinguishes all too soon, shattering our hearts. I have never cried so much as I have while reading this book.

Having loved all these characters from the very beginning of the series, experiencing all these pivotal changes in the landscape and timeframe of the books has me completely shook. I deeply empathized with every character and every scene so much so that I wept uncontrollably many times, and smiled my heart’s smile while laughing at wonderful memories. And also finding it extremely difficult to accept the earth shattering changes that follow such an immense shift in the Guild Hunter universe.

I am fundamentally changed after reading this book.

There are so many parallels in ARCHANGEL'S ASCENSION and so many lessons to learn about life and love. There are also so many lovely surprises in this book that I refuse to say more about because readers need to experience it themselves. I will politely suggest having a BIG box of tissues handy though. The author is gonna take you through some things.

I’m not gonna lie, ARCHANGEL'S ASCENSION is as heart wrenching as it is grief inducing. But it’s also exciting, funny, breathtaking, hopeful, and transformative.

What Nalini Singh has created in the Guild Hunter universe is magical, extraordinary, and beautiful beyond comparison. I’m sure it can be quite difficult for any author to keep track of storylines and characters, especially when you are 17 books deep into a series but Ms. Singh does it flawlessly.

ARCHANGEL'S ASCENSION is THE best book of 2025 and one of the very best books I’ve ever read. Standing mother fucking ovation! Bravo, Ms. Singh! Bravo!

Countdown Review: Archangel's Lineage by Nalini Singh

On May 5, 2026, the series will come to a close with ARCHANGEL’S ETERNITY.

I’m counting down the days until the final story is told by sharing my reviews for each book in the series.

ARCHANGEL'S LINEAGE is Book #16 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series.

The Guild Hunter series is set in a world where angels and vampires exist among mortals. Where supernatural beings are ruled by the Cadre of Ten.

In ARCHANGEL'S LINEAGE, Elena struggles with the mortality of her human family.

Archangel Raphael along with the rest of the Cadre have a lot of business to attend to, including the search for a missing archangel.

There is SO much action in this book. You’ll definitely read past your bedtime.

Don’t forget the tissues! It’s a tear-jerker!

About the Book

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s dangerous and beautiful world of archangels, vampires, and mortals has never faced a threat this cataclysmic…

Raphael and Elena are experiencing their first ever year of true peace. No war. No horrors of archangelic power. No nightmares given flesh. Until…the earth beneath the Refuge begins to tremble, endangering not only angelkind’s precious and fragile young, but the very place that has held their most innocent safe for eons.

Amid the chaos, Elena’s father suffers a violent heart attack that threatens to extinguish their last chance to heal the bonds between them and make sense of the ruins of their agonizing shared history.

Even as Elena battles grief, Raphael is torn from her side by the sudden disappearance of an archangel. But worse yet is to come. An Ancestor, an angel unlike any other, stirs from his Sleep to warn the Cadre of a darkness so terrible that it causes empires to fall and civilizations to vanish.

This time, even the Cadre itself may not be able to stop a ticking clock that is counting down at frightening speed…

My Review

5 Million Stars

Nalini Singh wrung out my soul, shattered my heart and painstakingly–and lovingly–mended it back together in ARCHANGEL'S LINEAGE.

OMG! I cried SO much while reading this book.

Elena's father suffers a grave medical emergency and Elena flies to her father's bedside as fast as she can. They have a complicated relationship and trauma bonded when Elena was a young child.

Throughout the series, Jeffrey Devereux has been a disapproving father who blames Elena and her "lifestyle" as a hunter born for many things that have happened in the past. It's always been a point of contention and has drawn a wedge between them, despite the fact that being hunter born is hereditary and it's the foundation of who Elena is.

This family was broken so many years ago and never truly healed. With time running out for Jeffrey, we can only hope that it's not too late to right the wrongs of the past and mend this rift.

Archangel Raphael is busy with the Cadre trying to find a lost archangel, figure out who'll oversee the abandoned lands, protect the most vulnerable from the changes in the Refuge, all while trying to be there for his Elena during this heartbreaking time.

The story is beautiful, heartbreaking, heart wrenching, unbelievable, passionate, explosive, amazing, exciting, nail-biting, tear-jerking, lovely, and everything you want (or need) in a Nalini book.

ARCHANGEL'S LINEAGE is packed FULL of surprises! I cannot wait for everyone to read it! I whole-heartedly recommend the entire Guild Hunter series and EVERY book by Nalini Singh!

Countdown Review: Archangel's Resurrection by Nalini Singh

On May 5, 2026, the series will come to a close with ARCHANGEL’S ETERNITY.

I’m counting down the days until the final story is told by sharing my reviews for each book in the series.

ARCHANGEL'S RESURRECTION is Book #15 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series.

The Guild Hunter series is set in a world where angels and vampires exist among mortals. Where supernatural beings are ruled by the Cadre of Ten.

ARCHANGEL'S RESURRECTION is the story of Archangel Alexander and Archangel Zanaya.

Their story is beautiful, heartbreaking, steadfast, unbending and completely enthralling!

About the Book

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh takes us into the dangerous, haunting world of archangels . . . and a love that is legend.

For thousands of years, the passion between Alexander, Archangel of Persia, and Zanaya, Queen of the Nile, burned furious and bright, seemingly without end. But to be an archangel is to be bound to power violent and demanding. Driven by its primal energy, Alexander and Zanaya fought as fiercely as they loved, locked in an endless cycle of devotion and heartbreak. It is only Zanaya’s decision to Sleep that ends their love story.

Eons later, the Cascade of Death wakens them both. The passion between them a flame that yet burns, Alexander and Zanaya stand together in one last battle against the ultimate darkness. But even a warrior archangel cannot win every war. Alexander’s scream shatters the world as Zanaya falls, broken and silent . . . only to rise again in a miracle that may be a devastating curse. For is it truly the Queen of the Nile who has been resurrected?

Only one thing is clear: This is the last beat of their passionate, angry dance. The final song for Alexander and his Zani . . .

My Review

10 Stars!

Amazing! So many feels with this one! A love story for the eons! So much love, so much heartache, too much pride, sigh!

I loved watching how these two as stripling angels developed into their own powers and became archangels in their own right while navigating the political waters of the Cadre (Archangels in charge of immortals and delineated territories in the world). Their love story is a battlefield of epic proportions, yet so beautifully fragile in its infancy. Well, to angels/archangels that live hundreds of thousands of years, the description is apt 😉

Archangel’s Resurrection has so many surprises, so much angelic backstory, gives answers to questions and reveals more questions that need answers! It has such an amazing and enriching storyline. You’ll definitely have a hard time putting the book down!

One thing I really loved about the story is that I loved watching how other immortals view Elena and Raphael and Elena’s relationship as Archangel and Consort. It just gives the book such perspective.

The book can be read as a standalone, but to get a richer reading experience, I’d recommend rereading some previous books with information about Alexander and I’d definitely recommend a reread of Archangel’s War. Again, not necessary, but could be helpful in giving the reader a refresher about some events in that book.

Archangel’s Resurrection is another masterpiece from Nalini Singh! She creates magical and brilliantly crafted worlds full of wonder. Just when you think you’ve seen the big picture, Nalini pivots the entire storyline (or series) and reveals a whole new side of things. It is mind-blowing! Nalini’s worlds are multi-dimensional, multifaceted and beautifully extraordinary. Her characters are thoroughly and lovingly created with complexity and perfect imperfection. She’s gotta be a magician pulling all these awesome stories out of her sleeves!

I absolutely LOVED the book! I strongly recommend Archangel’s Resurrection, the entire Guild Hunter series, and every book by Nalini Singh!

Countdown Review: Archangel's Light by Nalini Singh

On May 5, 2026, the series will come to a close with ARCHANGEL’S ETERNITY.

I’m counting down the days until the final story is told by sharing my reviews for each book in the series.

ARCHANGEL'S LIGHT is Book #14 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series.

The Guild Hunter series is set in a world where angels and vampires exist among mortals. Where supernatural beings are ruled by the Cadre of Ten.

ARCHANGEL'S LIGHT is the story of Illium and Aodhan, both members or Archangel Raphael's Seven.

A love story eons in the making.

And one hell of a tear-jerker!

Make sure you have tissues handy!

About the Book

Nalini Singh returns to the world of the Guild Hunters for the most highly anticipated novel of the beloved series—a love story so epic it’s been half a millennia in the making…

Illium and Aodhan.  Aodhan and Illium. For centuries they’ve been inseparable: the best of friends, closer than brothers, companions of the heart. But that was before—before darkness befell Aodhan and shattered him, body, mind, and soul. Now, at long last, Aodhan is healing, but his new-found strength and independence may come at a devastating cost—his relationship with Illium.

As they serve side by side in China, a territory yet marked by the evil of its former archangel, the secret it holds nightmarish beyond imagining, things come to an explosive decision point. Illium and Aodhan must either walk away from the relationship that has defined them—or step forward into a future that promises a bond infinitely precious in the life of an immortal…but that demands a terrifying vulnerability from two badly bruised hearts.

My Review

This is a book about love
Mother’s love
Friend’s love
Family’s love
Love that cannot be defined
Love that cannot be measured
Love that has no equal
Love that has no end

So many feels
So much love
Happy tears
Sad tears
Loved it so much

I completely and utterly adored Archangel’s Light! I love that we get flashbacks from the past to show the progression of Aodhan and Illium’s friendship over the years. And we get answers to many of the questions that have plagued readers throughout the series!

Archangel’s Light is a complete surprise. Several surprises actually, filling me with dread and delight! I love how Ms. Singh gave us something we never knew we wanted but we absolutely needed!

I hate sharing spoilers but I feel I must share that there is a male/male relationship in the book and while it is addressed as “gently” as possible, some readers may find it troubling and choose to skip this story.

The Guild Hunter series is an amazing universe full of incredible world building and brilliantly and lovingly crafted characters that are engaging and exciting. I wholeheartedly recommend the entire series!

Countdown Review: Archangel's Sun by Nalini Singh

On May 5, 2026, the series will come to a close with ARCHANGEL’S ETERNITY.

I’m counting down the days until the final story is told by sharing my reviews for each book in the series.

ARCHANGEL'S SUN is Book #13 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series.

The Guild Hunter series is set in a world where angels and vampires exist among mortals. Where supernatural beings are ruled by the Cadre of Ten.

ARCHANGEL'S SUN showcases the Archangel Titus, The Archangel of Southern Africa and the Hummingbird, Sharine, mother of Illium, one of Archangel Raphael's Seven.

These are two beloved characters in the series and finally get their chance to shine!

The pairing we never knew we needed!

About the Book

A horrifying secret rises in the aftermath of an archangelic war in New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s deadly and beautiful Guild Hunter world. . . .

The Archangel of Death and the Archangel of Disease may be gone but their legacy of evil lives on—especially in Africa, where the shambling, rotting creatures called the reborn have gained a glimmer of vicious intelligence.

It is up to Titus, archangel of this vast continent, to stop the reborn from spreading across the world. Titus can’t do it alone, but of the surviving powerful angels and archangels, large numbers are wounded, while the rest are fighting a surge of murderous vampires.

There is no one left . . . but the Hummingbird. Old, powerful, her mind long a broken kaleidoscope. Now, she must stand at Titus’s side against a tide of death upon a discovery more chilling than any other. For the Archangel of Disease has left them one last terrible gift . . . .

My Review

I absolutely LOVED ARCHANGEL'S SUN!

The Hummingbird is a treasure to the angelic race. Her artistry has no equal and her gentle kindness and motherly love has no ending. But her soul was shattered long ago and she lives inside her own world, wholly broken.

Archangel Titus is the archangel of southern Africa. He is a mighty warrior, loud and boisterous with sharp edges. An honorable angel with no time for the duplicitous and is fiercely protective of his people and his lands.

So you may be asking yourself, however would these two be a good match? Yes, yes indeed! Ms. Singh has brilliantly crafted this harrowing and exciting tale of mystery, intrigue and danger. I couldn’t put it down! There’s so much going on! So many surprises! So much action! Steamy chemistry! I loved it!

If you’re a super fan of the series like me or new to the books, you’ll be instantly whisked away on an adventure you’ll most certainly not forget! I don’t want to say anything else because I don’t want to spoil it, but it’s an exciting, engaging, enjoyable, beautiful and heart-wrenching read! And I whole-heartedly recommend Archangel’s Sun, the entire Guild Hunter series and any one of Ms. Singh’s books!

About the Book

The fourth nerve-shattering installment of the San Diego Case Files from New York Times bestselling author Karen Rose sees Kit McKittrick’s sister caught in a maelstrom of deadly family secrets.

As an infant, Kit McKittrick’s foster sister Akiko was abandoned at a firehouse. Now 32, Akiko has received an unsettling phone call from a woman who says that she knew her birth mother but refuses to divulge any details except in person. Akiko is nervous but also thrilled at the prospect of finally learning about her blood relations.

Kit has a bad feeling about this and insists on accompanying Akiko to meet the woman. Sure enough, as they stand on Mary Sherman’s doorstep, shots are fired and Kit is hit…and inside the house is a corpse: Mary Sherman herself.

Although she’s on medical leave and forbidden to work the case, Kit cannot rest. With police psychologist Sam Reeves, she undertakes a covert investigation into the mysterious Mary Sherman. Was she Akiko’s birth mother? Why did she reach out after all these years? And who had a motive to kill her?

As more bodies pile up, Kit starts to put together the pieces of the frightening puzzle that is Akiko’s birth family, and she’ll come to wonder whether some secrets should stay buried after all.

My Review

“O what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.” – Sir Walter Scott

Family Lies is an explosive mystery that’ll keep you up bleary eyed into the wee morning hours until your curiosity is fully satisfied.

The story begins with a bang and quickly entangles readers in a dangerous web of lies, intrigue, and betrayal!

There are so many mysteries! Each question answered raises even more questions.

We learn so much more about Kit’s adoptive sister Akiko, where she came from and how she ended up with the McKittricks. The McKittricks are a husband and wife who have a large home and even larger hearts and have been fostering, loving, and adopting kids for decades.

The fabric of the story is enriched by the complexities of the characters and the relationship dynamics each character has with the others. A beautifully broken melting pot of humanity.

I absolutely love the found family aspect of the storyline, not just within the McKittrick household but also at Kit’s job. Despite Kit’s stoic, prickly and standoffish persona, her fellow detectives and CO have claimed her as well.

But even though I absolutely love this book, my love for this series wasn’t always so apparent. I admit I was frustrated with the author because the first book didn’t end in an HEA, nor did the second or third books. Where is my HEA?!!?!?!?!?

I am finally understanding and enjoying this large story arc format centered around a detective as she protects people daily, helps support her adoptive parents and their foster kids while trying to discover who murdered her sister and left her in a dumpster 17 years ago.

And then here comes this do-gooder police psychologist with a heart of gold and the patience of a saint who sees to the heart of Kit, who’s claimed her quietly and who believes it’s an honor to hold the trust of the surly and guarded detective.

Throughout the series as Kit and her department protect and serve, each book has Kit coming closer to finding her sister’s murderer, and opening her heart to Sam.

I really like this format because the romance is not instalove and theirs is a slow courtship where trust can be earned, appreciated, and given space for love to blossom.

Family Lies is a gripping read! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I couldn’t read this book fast enough! I devoured the pages and had to restrain myself from skipping ahead! I could not put this book down. And definitely do not sleep on the epilogue!

I highly recommend the entire series!

Countdown Review: Archangel's War by Nalini Singh

On May 5, 2026, the series will come to a close with ARCHANGEL’S ETERNITY.

I’m counting down the days until the final story is told by sharing my reviews for each book in the series.

ARCHANGEL'S WAR is Book #12 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series.

The Guild Hunter series is set in a world where angels and vampires exist among mortals. Where supernatural beings are ruled by the Cadre of Ten.

ARCHANGEL'S WAR picks up several months after the events of ARCHANGEL'S PROPHECY.

ARCHANGEL'S WAR is exactly how it sounds.

We're gearing up for a supernatural Battle Royale that has the power to decimate the world.

The Archangel Lijuan has evolved into the Archangel of Death and is ready to usher in her Reign of Terror on earth.

It's going to take a lot more than Archangel Raphael, his consort Elena, and their allies to defeat this foe.

Readers, please prepare yourselves because this story–while exciting–is a tough read.

Grab your emotional support angel or vampire and let's get to it.

About the Book

Return to New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s darkly passionate Guild Hunter world, where human-turned-angel Elena Deveraux, consort to Archangel Raphael, faces a new challenge that threatens the balance of the world.

Wings of silver. Wings of blue. Mortal heart. Broken dreams. Shatter. Shatter. Shatter. A sundering. A grave. I see the end. I see. . . .

The world is in chaos as the power surge of the Cascade rises to a devastating crescendo. In furiously resisting its attempts to turn Elena into a vessel for Raphael’s power, Elena and her archangel are irrevocably changed. . .far beyond the prophecy of a cursed Ancient.

At the same time, violent and eerie events around the world threaten to wipe out entire populations. And in the Archangel Lijuan’s former territory, an unnatural fog weaves through the land, leaving only a bone-chilling silence in its wake. Soon it becomes clear that even the archangels are not immune to this deadly evil. This time, even the combined power of the Cadre may not be enough. . . .

This war could end them all.

My Review

10 Star Review!

Nalini Singh outdid herself in this one!

I must have said, "HOLY SH*T!!!" At least 20 times! There are so many surprises and jaw-dropping moments, I can’t really say anything without spoiling!

Raphael and Elena’s relationship is put to the ultimate test!

I will say that the story is packed full of… stuff I can’t say because it will spoil it! Dang it! Alas my lips must remain sealed!

I will say that I absolutely LOVED the book and I cannot WAIT to find out what Ms. Singh has in store for us next!

This is a pivotal book in the series! Be prepared to laugh, cry, yell, grieve, gasp, cheer, jeer, pray, and be stunned speechless!

Some advice for readers: Do not skip any chapter, page or sentence. You may miss something vital to the story and series!

ARCHANGEL’S WAR is an exhilarating read full of action, suspense, intrigue, danger, thrills, chills, and so many surprises.

I can't recommend this series enough!

Countdown Review: Archangel's Prophecy by Nalini Singh

On May 5, 2026, the series will come to a close with ARCHANGEL’S ETERNITY.

I’m counting down the days until the final story is told by sharing my reviews for each book in the series.

ARCHANGEL'S PROPHECY is Book #11 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series.

The Guild Hunter series is set in a world where angels and vampires exist among mortals. Where supernatural beings are ruled by the Cadre of Ten.

ARCHANGEL'S PROPHECY stars Raphael and Elena and a prophecy so chilling, it threatens to unweave the tightly knitted fabric of their life together.

Whatever you think you know about the Guild Hunter series and whatever expectations you have, throw all those things out the window because all bets are off in Nalini Singh’s ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY!

You ready to find out more? Let's dig in!

About the Book

Return to Nalini Singh’s darkly passionate Guild Hunter world with this New York Times bestseller, where human-turned-angel Elena Deveraux, consort to Archangel Raphael, is thrust center stage into an eons-old prophecy…

Midnight and dawn, Elena’s wings are unique among angelkind—and now they are failing. The first mortal to be turned into an immortal in angelic memory, she’s regressing. Becoming more and more human. Easier to hurt. Easier to kill.

Elena and Raphael must unearth the reason for the regression before Elena falls out of the sky. Yet even as they fight a furious battle for Elena’s very survival, violent forces are gathering across the world. In China, the Archangel Favashi is showing the first signs of madness. In New York, a mysterious sinkhole filled with lava swallows a man whole. In Africa, torrential monsoon rains flood rolling deserts. And in Elena’s mind whispers a haunting voice that isn’t her own.

This time, survival may not be possible…not even for the consort of an archangel.

My Review

I absolutely could not put this book down! The story’s exciting and fast-paced with plot twists and turns that will give you whiplash!

No words ever written are good enough to express the magnitude of what I’m feeling for this book. The characters are flawlessly and brilliantly crafted, the storyline is deeply complex and engaging and the fierce love between Raphael and his Elena is without equal!

There are so many wonderful, exasperating and unbelievable surprises in this book that I can’t really say anymore without giving things away. But what I can share is that the story takes place a few years after the events of ARCHANGEL’S VIPER. If you are not yet in love with Nalini Singh, you will be after this book!

I experienced so many emotions while reading the book. I laughed, I cussed up a storm, I cried, I cheered, I cussed some more and shed a lot more tears! I will say though, most of my cussing was because the story ends in a cliffhanger.

I hope you don't see this as a spoiler but as a heads up. As a reader, I know I'd rather be forewarned than blindsided. However, this ending doesn't take away from how magical, wonderful and exciting the story is. Thankfully, the next book is already published so you don’t have to wait long to find out what happens next!

Hands down, ARCHANGEL’S PROPHECY is the BEST book I’ve read this year (in 2018). And while this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I’d definitely recommend checking out the rest of the series too because it’s amazing! No one writes romance like Nalini Singh!

Countdown Review: Archangel's Viper by Nalini Singh

On May 5, 2026, the Guild Hunter series will come to a close with ARCHANGEL’S ETERNITY.

I’m counting down the days until the final story is told by sharing my reviews for each book in the series.

ARCHANGEL'S VIPER is Book #10 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter Series.

The Guild Hunter series is set in a world where angels and vampires exist among mortals. Where supernatural beings are ruled by the Cadre of Ten.

ARCHANGEL’S VIPER features Venom, the youngest member of Archangel Raphael’s Seven and is just as unique and as rare as Naasir!

I’ve enjoyed Venom’s snarky banter and his ruthless wit throughout the series.

He’s forbidden fruit and could tempt the most divine immortals to fall.

He may look like a gorgeous supermodel you’d happily be seduced by, but beneath Venom’s skin lies a lethal creature with poison so virulent, you’ll be begging for death.

So... are you ready to discover the mystery that is Venom?

About the Book

Enter New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s breathtakingly passionate Guild Hunter world with the story of a woman who isn’t a vampire or an angel…or human…

Once a broken girl known as Sorrow, Holly Chang now prowls the shadowy gray underground of the city for the angels. But it’s not her winged allies who make her a wanted woman—it’s the unknown power coursing through her veins. Brutalized by an insane archangel, she was left with the bloodlust of a vampire, the ability to mesmerize her prey, and a poisonous bite.

Now, someone has put a bounty on her head…

Venom is one of the Seven, Archangel Raphael’s private guard, and he’s as infuriating as he is seductive. A centuries-old vampire, his fangs dispense a poison deadlier than Holly’s. But even if Venom can protect Holly from those hunting her, he might not be able to save himself—because the strange, violent power inside Holly is awakening…

No one is safe.

My Review

He may be the youngest immortal in the archangel Raphael’s elite guard, but Venom is just as dangerous as the rest of the Seven. Having been Made by the Queen of Snakes (Archangel Neha), Venom is a unique and deadly creation. He’s also been a mystery to us and I’m so glad we finally have his book!

Holly was just a young and carefree twentysomething when she was kidnapped with several of her friends by a crazy madman. Having been tortured in unspeakable ways, Holly was changed on a fundamental level.

Trying to find her new place in the world, she’s starting to be happy again. But she’s hiding a deadly secret. Not only that, Holly’s got this big asshole with stupid sunglasses who’s made it his life’s work to forever be a thorn in her side. Whether it’s calling her annoying nicknames or making fun of her “kitty fangs," Holly loathes Venom with every cell in her body. If only he’d find someone else to torture 😊

As with all Nalini Singh books, ARCHANGEL’S VIPER is captivating, thrilling and brilliantly put together! I loved every page of it! Holly and Venom love to hate each other and their constant ribbing had me laughing every single time. The ultimate antagonists, their banter was the comic relief that balanced the heavier aspects of the book.

I love Holly. She’s a survivor and I loved watching her grow into her maturity. She constantly battles adversity and NEVER stops fighting. Holly is a kick-ass heroine and I admired her greatly.

Venom is the same old Venom. He’s infuriating, aggravating and devastatingly sexy. Even though I’m not a big fan of snakes, Venom started to grow on me as the story went on. It was interesting to learn about his past and why he’s become a jaded, cynical vampire.

ARCHANGEL’S VIPER exceeds all my expectations and I never wanted it to end! However, I am looking forward to the next Guild Hunter book. Could it finally be Illium’s book? Or maybe Aodhan? Or maybe a secondary character gets a chance to shine… or it could be another Raphael and Elena book. Whichever way the series flows, you better believe I’ll be a ride-or-die reader until the end!

Well, now I know the next book will be a Raphael and Elena book and it will definitely be an amazing one!

ARCHANGEL’S VIPER is an exciting read that’s funny, heart wrenching, and packed FULL of surprises!

I whole-heartedly recommend this and every book by Nalini Singh!
